Introduction

In the eighteenth century special folk art was evolved in Kalocsa and its environs. In the beginning the furniture-painting, later in the nineteenth century the wall-painting and the embroidery were appeared. During that time not the motifs but also the colour combinations were renewed.

My mother-in-law, Mrs. Molnárné, had been designing folk costumes since 1933. The aim our activity is to retain her work and to develop the folk art traditions.

The range of our enterprise’s activity: we are producing doilies, tableclothes, souvenirs (bottle-dress, bread-cover, pincushion, bag, wallet, tissue-box cover etc.), curtains, pillows, bed-clothes, blouses, vests, boleros, skirts, trousers and head-dresses with kalocsai embroidery by hand and machine. Furthermore we are producing also other region’s folk costumes with beneficial deadline, because the sewing factory is increasable according to demands.

In 1986 I obtained the Master of Folk Art title. We have been working as a limited liability company since 1997. We export our products – which were examined by the Népi Iparművészeti Osztály (NIT) – to Japan due to our flexible adjustment to the individual demands and our efforts to the quality and the precision.

I am glad to be able to introduce you our family enterprise, and let me express my thanks to you for your flattering interest.
